Required Reading From Cavs: The Blog

With the Miami Heat coming to town on Friday, there will likely be various articles talking about LeBron James and his return to Cleveland. I haven't decided whether or not I will write something, I'll leave that up to you guys. If you want me to write something, I will. If you don't give a shit about LeBron, I understand. Regardless, you need to read this article by Ryan Braun (not the NL MVP) from Cavs: The Blog.

It is an absolutely incredibly piece, in my opinion. I'm a sucker for self-revealing honesty and am fascinated by the ways that sports relate to our everyday lives. So, do yourselves a favor and read this article.

Here's an excerpt. But here's the link to the entire article, go read it.

There is talk, Amico writes, that LeBron is discontent in Miami — "less-than-thrilled with certain aspects of the Heat organization." It’s not Wade and Bosh, SA continues, it’s "the heavy-handed and disciplined style of Pat Riley."

None of this is particularly substantive or surprising. That Brian Windhorst corroborated kept me from writing off the return possibility without first giving it some thought…but I did give it some thought and came to the conclusion that we’ll see Obama as governor of Mississippi before we see LeBron, as Windhorst speculates, back in Cleveland and honored with a statue.

To even get us to the precipice of a return would require not only Dan Gilbert’s acceptance of a LeBron reconciliation, but an apology from LeBron himself, plus a general admission of wrongdoing. In other words, LeBron would have to publicly take some responsibility for the split with Cleveland and at least in some capacity, publicly admit he may have done a thing or two to draw Gilbert’s ire.

None of the above is going to happen, and perhaps because of that, the likelihood of the above happening is not really what I’m interested in.

I’m interested in us.

I’m interested in what we might do if the situation presented itself.

wow! that was a good read.i dont dislike james anymore ,like i did when he left.i just glad he moved on because the orlando situation is example of players wanting to be gms.they want pick there own guys to play with and when they fail they move on .i would rather build a team around hardworking guy like av, gee ,tigger and irving i want build it the right.stay in miami bron hopefully we will see you in east finals two or three years.go cavs

i would take him back in a heartbeat. Irving, Gee, LeBron, Thompson, Varejao, our draft pick this year is winning two championships. wont happen, though.

We may be experiencing a lull in LeBron hatred, but itll go back up when he wins a title for someone else

david but, like i said above i would not take him back .and not because of spite .guy like bron and howard want to control of how team rosters or made-up .and that is recipe for disaster .and i would give that type of control to any player .let alone lebron ,we tryed that before how did that turn out?

we won a lot of basketball games with mo williams as our second best player.

doesn’t matter, this isn’t going to happen.

I've said it before [ not here ] and I'll say it again.LBJ's a whiner, not a winner.

He should have stayed with the Cavs, and continued building toward championships, but in truth, he’s not an alpha male.

Wade is, and even if he’s being inconsistent at times, he’ll still be the one to finish the games [ as much as I hate to say anything nice about Wade ] since he is a great player.

LBJ is probably whining now because Pat Riley is a very disciplined person, with very high expectations, and is likely not letting the man-child have his own way whenever he wants.

He may have the greatest natural talent in the entire NBA, but when it comes to having a killer instinct, I’ll take a Kobe Bryant, or even a D.Wade anytime.

Lygafe.
