Upset comments were turned off before I could get to that Preview thread.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
I had to leave and it got out of control so I couldnt moderate it anymore
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Yea, it was for the best. I just had one thing to say and I was out. No time for that stuff.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
That preview thread was crazy. Some Nets fans trolling big time. I guess they just wanted to blow off some steam since they’re team is awful.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
I came to FTS and saw 331 and before I even opened it I closed the browser and opened it again because I didn’t think it could be right, or that it all had to be spam somehow.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Before I opened it I thought someone might have just done 1 letter posts over and over or something crazy. Crazy it was.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
So glad that the Cavs were deemed worthy enough to step on the same floor as the almighty Nets tonight
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
We’re done with this, right?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
haha, i think so
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Pretty much.
My trolling is as done as Deron Williams’ career.
Semicorrect - January 27, 2012
aww, it was right before I could post that if you look at percentage of season that 15 NBA games is equivalent to 41.7272727 baseball games to sample size guy
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
So everybody knows, the ban-hammer will be swift and powerful tonight. So no nonsense. I dont want a big trollfest.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
wow conrad you did good and didn’t lose youre temper .nets fans think there something dont they?
beanjames - January 27, 2012
yeah, i dont care what people on the internet are saying about me, honestly. it comes with the territory.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
crazy preview thread, havent had that much fun in awhile. sadly cant watch the game, hope kyrie does his thing tonight
FrenchToast979 - January 27, 2012 via Android app
Hello. Can we stay within triple digits of this juggernaut? Stay tuned…
Danieldelamaiz - January 27, 2012
Hey guys, when the Cavs get Dwight Howard we’re gonna be awesome [Nets fan logic]
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Also, I’m at work right now, so you guys are my eyes tonight. I’m following on gamecast and will watch it when i get home or tomorrow morning.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
So is it a Samuels, Hollins, or Semih night if TT plays?
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
I’m thinking Samuels. He’s played well recently.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
probably smardo, but hollins has been “productive” rexently
FrenchToast979 - January 27, 2012 via Android app
I hope Samuels, he’s been good
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
You heard Boobie. D them up.
Danieldelamaiz - January 27, 2012
Nice play by Kyrie. And they finally missed.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
jeez, Deron didnt like my post apparently
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Yeah, he has started well.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
I’m taking a 25 question, 90 minute multiple choice online Econ 201 test right now. Safe to say it won’t take even a half hour.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
How do we look thus far?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Nets can’t miss for some reason
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Yeah, Humphries is hitting deep jumpers like he is Z.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
We ran an allep-oop to Parker. And one to Casspi. Both did manage to destroy the Nets D spacing and some open outside looks.
O looks good, D is getting torched from 15 feet
Danieldelamaiz - January 27, 2012
Woulda been here earlier, but was in shock over an attempted lob to AP
OPace - January 27, 2012
Need more updates, people..
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
We’re shooting 60% and being outshot
OPace - January 27, 2012
Jamison with a funky looking layup off some nice passing
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Nice ball movement on offense, getting good open looks.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
AP in Israeli MJ mode
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Varejao with 3 assists
OPace - January 27, 2012
Ugh, D-Will is on fire?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
him and Kris Humphries, their PnR is torching us
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Crap
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Thus TT makes an early entry
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Andy is a better PG than DW. (SSS)
Danieldelamaiz - January 27, 2012
It seems like he’s trying to pass more these days, sometimes gets a little wild ith it though
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
TT is on the floor. Good to see him back.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Nets are on fire
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Not too worried, they’re about as deep as a kiddie pool
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Legit.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
“small sample size”
FrenchToast979 - January 27, 2012 via Android app
Kyrie lets Farmar go by him and shoot a layup, then turns it over trying to do too much on the other end.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Kyrie's not in
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Yeah, they took him out after the above sequence.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Shit, get Hollins out of there now. Two bad shots already.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Annoying turnovers are annoying
OPace - January 27, 2012
This is all your fault, Conrad
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Crap.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Deron Williams is trying to make me look like a moron
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Hollins was being markedby Jordan Farmar in the post…
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Those tactics may work.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
He didn’t touch it
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Ryan Hollins is awesome at fouling
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Wow, we are missing some wide open 3’s.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Cavs ball, gotta be
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
smh.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
TT can’t shoot
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
BREAKING NEWS
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
It’s because he grew up with hockey and lacrosse, he’ll come around
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I tried to will in that wide open 10 footer.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Making the Nets look good is unacceptable
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
It really really is.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Why can’t Andy play 48 minutes a game?
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
He probably can
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
There’s no point in wrecking our players bodies this season, Byron is doing a great job with minutes
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I just can’t stand Ryan Hollins. I get ill watching him play.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Think about it this way, the more PT Jamison and Hollins get the better we look come lottery time
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Wrong. Jamison is better at this point than Thompson.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
But he takes a lot of shots away from Kyrie who is more efficient on offense, also Jamison couldn’t defense a wet noodle
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
MONSTER SLAM.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Best one he’s had this year?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
He’s had a lot
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Not as good as the second one versus the Heat the other day.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Okay, Sessions has air balled two jumpers. What the hell?
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
I dont wanna start anything again, but to the dumbass nets fans that were trolling on our blog trashing the city of cleveland, at least our city is good enough to have a basketball team next year lol
iso1512 - January 27, 2012 via mobile
Ugh
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Yeah, it was annoying. We’re moving past it though.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I was very amused
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Yeah I know but it just pissed me off how they would do that when their own city can’t even support a team but I guess were done with that
iso1512 - January 27, 2012 via mobile
Lol, the Cavs player profile for Kris Humphries :
- 2004 Big Ten player of the year
- Was married to Kim Kardashian
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Pretty much all you need to know.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
It’s also important to note that he was blonde in college and looks like Taylor Lautner
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Let us thank the Mighty Nets for letting the Woeful Cavs back into this game. Praise be to Prokhorov.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Hahah, so we’re just gonna have a huge rivalry with the Nets for some reason now?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Haha I’m not. I don’t give a shit. I just wanted to say at least one thing about it cus I just back and went through that thread. I have a headache.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Me too. I’m over it. Haterz gonna hate
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
It's all your fault
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Is that an assist?
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
That garbage under the nets basket?
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
nah, the Kyrie pass that bounced off Andy to a streaking Jamison
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Man, where is Kyrie’s shot?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Maybe he thinks we’re playing Toronto
OPace - January 27, 2012
Did you do something to make Jobu angry?
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Shit has gotten sloppy in the last few minutes and they’ve cashed in more garbage buckets.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
bad call
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Overturned
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Beasley back for the Wolves tonight as they host the Spurs. I wonder if Rubio will get to sit out at all tonight.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Did you see that? 46 minutes? Oh my
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Watched it. No Barea or Ridnour. They had no choice, Ellington or Wes couldn’t play point.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
When Avery Johnson complains, you think the refs think it’s just a kid in the front row
OPace - January 27, 2012
Yep, totally a foul on Andy.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Casspi… yikes
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Dammit all.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
A one man traveling show
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
These refs blow. Yes, Boobie just shot it up falling backwards, not because he was pushed over. And then that’s a foul for Deron.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Ughhhhhhhhhh
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
It’s like every game now the Cavs outdo themselves with awful quarters/halves.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
nice rescinded dime
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Kyrie bails us out and gets 4 points in the final 30 seconds to pull us within 10.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Well this seems rather awful so far.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
We’re probably lucky to be within 10.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
If Boobie/Omri hit a few of those wide wide wide open 3’s we’re right in this as terrible as we played.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Very true.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
HT OT question… Brad Childress?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Seems like a decent option considering Sherman was off the board.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
He looks like Gargamel
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Like it a lot. Did a lot with crappy receivers in Philly
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Great hire
OPace - January 27, 2012
I’ll answer my own question. Boo.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Really? How come?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Watched him up close for years with the Vikings. I’ve been bombarded with texts today saying such things as “hahahahaha” and “Bad move browns… childress sucks haha.”
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
As a head coach, yeah. But he was a good OC in Philly.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
He’s got a stench on him to me though for bungling the Vikings (see: 2009). But we’ll see.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Could have had better, could have had worse. His offenses never did much when he called plays, but he isn’t calling plays here anyways.
Pray he does for the offense what Jauron did for the defense.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
kyrie needs to shoot more i think he is to passive sometimes.
beanjames - January 27, 2012
His jumper isnt falling recently.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
like, so far in the game?
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
and in the game against New York
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
He’s a great shooter, he needs to trust it.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
game before that he was 8/10
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
golf clap
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
i know but he is still the best scorer .and i just wish that he would shoot his way out his slumps more
beanjames - January 27, 2012
Wow, I didn’t realize how bad that quarter was for both teams. 17 a piece? Ick.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Can I say something about how those Nets guys were ripping on how many readers they have? I’d rather have a small group that is actually knowledgeable and comments frequently. Building an actual community on a site is so much better and you get to “know” one another through threads and eventually it grows. Lets Go Tribe is an ideal example of this.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
They also play in a much larger market.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Yeah, and I’m sure lots of guys go on that site, post one thing and then leave.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Yeah, but they don’t like/understand/I’mnotreallysure stats.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
You mean 1/4 of a season is a small sample size?
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
That was hilarious to me
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
And they literally didnt read what I said. I never said anything about projecting into the future, just that Kyrie had out played him thus far
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Well, it is. But they were failing to grasp that Conrad was just comparing Kyrie to the Nets’ Deron. So it’s small sample size v. small sample size.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Also he was talking about 15 games in the MLB’s 162 game season giving an equivalent sample size to 17 games in the NBA. That’s like saying ‘just because someone’s good in 16 NFL games doesn’t mean anything. It isn’t a big enough sample size."
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Our community started a section in our arena
for all of us to cheer together. We’re a pretty solid community…and large.
NetsKiNG - January 27, 2012
Dont use subject lines
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
This just in: Knicks are beating the Heat
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Are they really? Wow.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
ESPN.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Watching NESN at work. /company man’d
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
They’re pretty much jacking threes, I don’t project their success lasting long
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Ughhhh
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
so ugly
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
so so ugly
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Wow we got some lucky rebounds.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
D-Will has 5 turnovers, FWIW
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
just drained a trey
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Nice move Irving
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Bad call
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Yeah, I think that should be our ball.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
AP must be tired of living in his sister’s shadow
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Ughhhhhhh
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
So…this recap is going to suucccckkkk
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Unless we get nasty and buckle down.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Samuels coming in, things are looking up
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Ugh.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Gee just threw the ball off Abraham Lincoln’s face!
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I like Gee.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Me too. I hope we give him a 3 year, 9 mil deal
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I like this idea.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
I could definitely live with that.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Would be a nice contract for a potentially useful role player
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I was jokingly calling him a Lebron killer the other day, but he definitely takes pride in his defense
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Me too. I like defense when you're down 14.
Kevin.S - January 27, 2012
preferably before
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I’m calling it, we make our move now and cut it to 6 before the 4th.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
That’d be ideal.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Dammit.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
All of TT’s non-dunks look really ugly
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
That was a pretty big yell for a pretty weak move
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Ugliest…his free throws.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Ugh. 11 points is a lot to make up in a quarter
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
OH NO! Didn’t get it to within ten. I bet Austin Carr is very sad.
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Well, looks like I’m going to have to write a recap and eat some crow. I’m sure Nets fans will be here to rub it in my face
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
WHo cares what they think?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
I dont. It’s just annoying to moderate trolls haha
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I’ll link this here:
http://www.sbnation.com/nba/events/94776/coverage
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Nets are a team that are irrelevant in their own town. The Knicks being bad is a bigger story than anything the Nets do. They mortgaged a lot for DWill, and he’ll leave before they make the playoffs. They’ll be a laughingstock for a while.
So, who cares what they think
OPace - January 27, 2012
I hope we have another game against the nets this year.
iso1512 - January 27, 2012 via mobile
we have two more game with the nets
beanjames - January 27, 2012
yayyyyyy
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Better hope for a heroic Kyrie-led comeback
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Kyrie is much better than Deron...im sorry for doubting you...
What a joke
RandyOreens - January 27, 2012
This is just one game, small sample size
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
This made my night.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Dont use subject lines.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Hope next game is
with our best players and reserve big man.
Brook Lopez
Marshon Brooks
Memet Okur
JJ25 - January 27, 2012
Dont use subject lines
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Thank you for this list of mediocre basketball players.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Mehmet Okur is the Turkish Tornado, don’t disrespect him and his 3-pt game as a center
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
lol
iso1512 - January 27, 2012 via mobile
What a hater, yeah cause this team is All NBA
Starters:
•
Point guard Kyrie Irving
•
Shooting guard Anthony Parker
•
Small forward Omri Casspi
•
Power forward Antawn Jamison
•
Center Anderson Varejao
Bench:
•
Guard Daniel Gibson
•
Guard Ramon Sessions
•
Forward Alonzo Gee
•
Forward Samardo Samuels
•
Center Ryan Hollins
JJ25 - January 27, 2012
Where did anyone say our team is All NBA? We just said yours isn’t very good either.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Somewhere along the line you Nets fans seemed to think that we all think the Cavs are the bees knees. The Cavs are made up of a roster that is seriously underwhelming. We all know this. Nobody thinks this Cavs team is good in the purest sense of the word.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
We’re not very good, but we do have 7 1st round draft picks, a great rookie PG and 20 million in cap space over the next 4 years
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
no one wants to play in Cleavland that 20mil cap space is going to scrub players
njnets05 - January 27, 2012
thanks for trolling!
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
In reality, we want to be bad so that we get a good draft pick and build a solid core. We arent just hoping superstars will fall into our laps via free agency.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I’m still homping that, Conrad. Expecting it not so much.
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
…hoping…
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
but we actually got marshon brooks with the celtics 25th pick this year
so i don’t think it’s all hope…
SamsHops - January 27, 2012
Great value.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
agreed
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Ok, are you Snooki or the Situation?
OPace - January 27, 2012
This is just a terrible joke.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
If Byron wanted to win he’d be putting in Kyrie now (more combinations baby)
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Holy shit, what an awful call.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
it was pretty awful
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
What a call.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
I do agree that that was a horrible call
I hate that sometimes they call it, sometimes they dont
netsfanrasmus - January 27, 2012
Dont use subject lines. How many times do I have to say this?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
But
Why?
netsfanrasmus - January 27, 2012
Because it’s my blog, and if you want to post on it, you’ll listen to my rules.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Yes sir
netsfanrasmus - January 27, 2012
It’s as ugly and distracting as that Abe Lincoln neck tat your boy Stevenson rocks.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Also because it breaks up the flow of the thread.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
It’s supposed to be a point of emphasis not to make that call this year, maybe Bavetta’s just too old
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Kyrie can scor a lot in short periods of time, so maybe he pulls it out?
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
+e, you know where
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
HAHA DELUSIONAL
JJ25 - January 27, 2012
It’s wishful thinking, but based on knowledge of his game
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Antawn makes me dissapoint.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Not when he gains us a 2012 first
OPace - January 27, 2012
I would love him forever and absolve him of all his sins if that happened.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
I’m just happy he’s an expiring contract, I don’t expect to get much out of him via trade
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
When are we just going to start calling him “Antawn Jamison’s Expiring Contract?” Oh wait, that’s too long to type.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
I’m cool with AJEC.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Don’t respond to this crap.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
That was sexy.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
push off
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Is Derron Williams gonna be in Dallas or LA next year?
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Dude. We’re better than that.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
It’s a serious question.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
In my opinion, Dallas.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I would like to see CP3 vs D-will in LA. I would guess a lot depends on how this year plays out for everyone.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Of all the opposing fanbases that could troll here, it’s the Nets. Funny when you think about it.
OPace - January 27, 2012
Lollllll
eLonepb - January 27, 2012
HAHA
shethravi - January 27, 2012
he has been better through 16
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Dont use subject lines
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
No bans?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
People are getting banned, no worries.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
May I ask why?
Every other SBN blog I have been on encourages them.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
They are really distracting and make the comments look gross. Maybe it’s a Cleveland thing because the Indians blog doesn’t use them. WHy do you like them?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Distracting? Huh?
What if someone posts a large image? Or one you don’t want to see? If there is a subject line you click it and the comment collapses. Same with if someone has a long sig or just makes a huge comment in general.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Nobody posts images in here. And if they do, the just put a “…” in the SL. And there’s no reason to have a long signature. Scroll up and down the comments on here sometime and it really looks sharp without the SL.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Eh. Whatever floats your boat. I don’t really care how the comment section looks. Bold lines do not hamper the experience for me.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Yea, it’s just personal preference. LGT (Indians blog) is crazy strict on the subject line, much more so than here so you’d dislike it there.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Sounds like a Cleveland thing.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Not really.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
And that is why their game threads suck. LGT also does not like pics or gifs…and hence why, despite all the great fans in there, have some of the worst game day threads you will find. I don’t dig the snobbery…and they have it in loads.
OscarDog - January 28, 2012
Yea, it can get frustrating. I usually last a week then need a month break because I get annoyed with that community somehow. I’m going to try and get through this whole season though with them, but we’ll see!
johnf34 - January 28, 2012
I love their threads. I’m open to making it more colorful and fun around here, but I don’t like how some threads have a picture or gif in every post.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 28, 2012
I’ve been on at least two others that ban them.
Semicorrect - January 27, 2012
Tried to warn you.
Talk smack about the Nets and this blog and your team with go south very quickly.
strange-brew - January 27, 2012
Dont use subject lines.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Good D Kyrie
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Really thought that Boobie shot was gonna go in.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Basket interference for sure
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Wow, big time.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Jesus another miserable call.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Defeinitely basket interference, hope NBA apologises
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Irving’s looking unstoppable
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
hey irving has only one turnover.
beanjames - January 27, 2012
Around the Association: I’ve got two games on the tube and they’re both tight, Knicks-Heat and Wolves-Spurs. I’ll take the Heat and Wolves to win.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Heat and Spurs.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Im begging the owner of this site to please ban me forever, so I never come back here again..PLEASE?
RandyOreens - January 27, 2012
Done and done
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Kyrie is so good, I can’t wait til we have a real team
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
This 4th quarter he is going crazy.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
I told you he could score fast
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
He’s really bailing you out, Conrad
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
He really is. Totally ballin.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Also got the board and immediate TO
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
How much are we down?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
6
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
6 with 25 seconds left… hrmmm
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Is basket interference reviewable?
OPace - January 27, 2012
I think it is within the last 2 minutes, but not if it isn’t called
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Think, its only 4 without that garbage call.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
There were others, I think Bavetta’s getting old
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
OMG, this is getting good.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
irving is awsome!
beanjames - January 27, 2012
Kyrie has scored the last 14 Cavs points, 18 for the quarter.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Wow this is one of those losses for the Cavs
That will look close but was really a blowout domination. Good for Vegas I suppose.
eLonepb - January 27, 2012
So on a Friday night, for pleasure, you go to a visiting NBA blog and try to stick it to people because your team won a single digit game that means nothing in the scope of the season??
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Come on, don’t use subject lines. Also, this is one of those games that gets us more ping pong balls. Woo!
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Looks like a blowout, but more like a statistical anomoly
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Just had a good joke about your screen name but I’m done.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Hahahaha Andy
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Varejao, whoa
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
ANDY FOR THREEEE
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Just checked the box. Our SG’s are rough as usual.
Can’t agree with anyone who wants a center over a wing if talent is similar.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Think that stands a 2, unfortunately.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Wow that’s close.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Still awesome
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Damn 1/16 of an inch.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Welp.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
I do have to agree, this game was “oodles” of fun.
NetsKiNG - January 27, 2012
Yea, it’s a win-win for both sides. Win and obviously it’s good, lose and we get more ping pong balls. Good call.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Getting more ping pong balls and watching our rookie go off for 29 points? Yeah, I had fun.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
32, he hit a 3 at the buzzer.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
I had more fun.
NetsKiNG - January 27, 2012
Wins are pretty rare for you guys….will be even rarer when DWill leaves
OPace - January 27, 2012
Golly, I’m proud
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Then we all got what we wanted. See ya in March.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
In the large scope, a good night. We get to see how dominating Kyrie can be in the late stages of a game and add another ball to the lottery.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Literally, the perfect scenario if you ask me.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I could use a little more TT flash, but he is coming off an injury.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
good point, TT did show some flashes, but not a good game by any means, really helped stop the bleeding off that Humphries/Williams PnR though
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Dude, 17 of Irving’s points were in garbage time.
Garbage time points are far from impressive.
The Chair of Knowledge - January 28, 2012
good game fellas
Scooby803 - January 27, 2012
Yup. Kyrie played great and more ping pong balls.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
I like reading ESPN alerts that say K. Irving (CLE): 32 points, etc.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
“If Byron wanted to win he’d be putting in Kyrie now (more combinations baby)”
I said this 1.5 minutes before Byron put in Kyrie, feel pretty clever
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Alright, I’m getting out of work now. Will watch the game tomorrow and have a recap up.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Just watch the last 7 minutes of the 4th quarter and ignore the score, you’ll have fun
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I had fun.
Nets win.
Deron double double.
Hump double double.
Cavs fans eating crow.
strange-brew - January 27, 2012
Did you miss the part when our 19 year old rookie went off for 32 points? Did I imagine that?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
on 60% shooting, and mostly in crunch time (when D Will started missing)
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Actually
when the game was over.
This game wasn’t competitive at all.
NetsKiNG - January 27, 2012
Yeah.
That was closer to garbage time than crunch time.
strange-brew - January 27, 2012
He scored 21 points in half a quarter. In no universe is that not impressive.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
He scored 21 in seven minutes in the 4th quarter
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Thanks for further specifying?
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Was just being more specific, no worries
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Haha
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
you won by 3 points with quite a few questionable calls in your favor against a bad team, you should have a parade
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
*A bad team that wants to build through the draft, has set themselves up to do so and isn’t waiting on some magical free agent or trade to make them stop being an embarrassment
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
At worst , they’ll have Marshon Brooks , Brook Lopez , and a high draft pick in the upcoming draft if magical free agent guy doesn’t exist. Derp derp …. build through the draft …… derp derp.
strange-brew - January 27, 2012
So Nets are in a rebuilding mode?
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
There is a large sum of variables in play. We would technically still be in rebuilding mode in the situation strange brew is talking about. But thats a great rebuilding situation. 7 footer who can score 20, rookie who will be on his way to averaging 20, a high draft pick in one of the best drafts in a long time, and loads of cap space to sign free agents who we can reel in with our shiny new billion dollar arena in New York City. And this is all assuming we lose Deron Williams.
Then you can look at a future with Deron Williams and Dwight Howard. Best case scenario is that the Magic think they can hold on to him and he leaves for Brooklyn. But I think he has made it clear is removed from that organization and they do now want to be left empty handed. I think he will be traded.
Dwight Howard does realize that he does not want his next team to be obliterated for him, a la Carmelo and the Knicks. He might think its best to leave as a free agent despite that 30 million dollar hair cut.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
I’ll give you most of your points, but Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks are not 20 point per game scorers. Not at all. They’re nice pieces, that’s it. And yes I’m just as excited as you for this draft.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Um. What. Brook Lopez averaged 20.4 last year. He is a 20 per game scorer. He will be even better with Deron. We have a black hole at center with Brook. I honestly believe we will be a significantly better team assuming he comes back healthy. And if in the future he is part of this team minus Deron Williams he will be our number one scoring option. So yes, he is a 20 per game score.
Marshon is not there yet, obviously. Sometimes you just watch a kid and you know he is special. You guys would know from Kyrie. Marshon is that type of special. His confidence is just ridiculous for a rookie, but it is not ignorant, or cocky confidence. The kid gets buckets. The top three rookies this year are Kyrie, Rubio, and Brooks in that order. You can look at rookie rankings and see that others agree. He is averaging 15 right now, in two years I do not see why he could not average 20, especially if there is no Deron Williams.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Marshon is going to be a hell of a scorer
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Brook Lopez can’t make the all-star team and he plays the weakest position in a weak conference. Nice player, nothing more. Who cares if Brooks could average 20 points a game if Deron Williams left? And who cares if Brook did it when Deron wasn’t there and you had a very poor team? You can’t have those three guys all score 20 points per game. And there is no scenario in the world where those three are your top players and you’re going deep into the East playoffs.
I admire your optimism, but you’ve got quite a bit of wishful thinking in there (stick around here long enough and it is exactly what we do with Tigger Thompson.)
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Give Lopes time and I think that he can be an all star. other players have noted this, too. Playing on the New Jersey Nets will not get you the popular vote. I do not understand how you can simply say “who cares.” Brook was in his third season and he was the only guy with any sort of talent on the team. I am confused how you say the reason Brook Lopez is nothing more than a “nice player” is because he has not made the all star team yet. You do not see pure seven footers who can average 20. He is special.
I do not expect that team (Brook, Brooks, Deron) to get us deep into the playoff, but it is a top 6, at worst 7, team in the East.
Then if you want to get talking about Deron and Dwight, then it is over. Players will want to sign with us a la Miami Heat. You would have the two positions to attack the Heat where they are weakest. That team should be a guaranteed trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Brook Lopez averaged more points last year after Dwill arrived!!!!! BOOM!!!!!!
The Chair of Knowledge - January 28, 2012
I would like to add that marshon brooks is easily a 20 ppg scorer. Easily! A future all star as well. You guys havent seen him play so dont act like you know what your talking about. The kid is special.
The Chair of Knowledge - January 28, 2012
Right, Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks are going to all average 20 points per game in the same season for many years. Yep, every NBA fan would believe that since that happens every year. I mean, they’re easily the top trio in the league so of course they’ll be the ONLY trio to do it.
johnf34 - January 28, 2012
They are all capable of doing it.
NetsMets4Life - January 28, 2012
Hahahaha.
johnf34 - January 28, 2012
You obviously have not watched the Nets at all.
And I do not blame you. All I am claiming is that Brooks, Lopez, and Williams are all capable of scoring 20 a game. Two have already proved it. The other is the best scorer in this rookie class outside of Kyrie. I am not so sure why that is so hard to see.
NetsMets4Life - January 28, 2012
I dont think Deron will re-sign if the Nets don’t add anyone else, do you agree?
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 28, 2012
Oh goodness no. Not a chance he stays unless we add either A) Dwight or B) a combination of lesser stars. And of course it’s possible that he only stays if option A happens. If it doesn’t, then he and Dwight will be in Dallas.
NetsMets4Life - January 28, 2012
Alright, you aren’t as delusional as some Nets fans are then. Seemed like people were convinced he was staying regardless.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 28, 2012
Nah. They might believe it now but soon enough they will come together.
NetsMets4Life - January 28, 2012
No all fans, atleast on NetsDaily are 100% aware that he will not stay of we dont add dwight or someone else really good
netsfanrasmus - January 28, 2012
Though I must note that Billy King and Deron have both said this team’s future does not rely on acquiring one other star player.
NetsMets4Life - January 28, 2012
But this cast of characters will not before enough, I would think
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 28, 2012
Of course not. If I were him and this team is the same as it is now in May, I’m out of here.
NetsMets4Life - January 28, 2012
I agree with that, but I think we’re getting dwight. you guys dont think so but just wait and see. when its all said and done, he’ll be with the nets
The Chair of Knowledge - January 28, 2012
WHO CARES what they are capable of? They’re not all capable of scoring 20 points per game on the same team and making the Nets a championship contender. If those are your three best players your ceiling is the 7 seed.
johnf34 - January 28, 2012
I did not say they could make us a championship contender.
I even said I do not think it would take us deep in the playoffs.
NetsMets4Life - January 28, 2012
I just didn’t think that he would capitulate you guys are rebuilding
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
You call it crunch time??
Jesus, it was garbage time!!!!!!!!
The Chair of Knowledge - January 28, 2012
Irving is going to be very good one day
Im pretty confident in that.
However the talk of Deron vs Kyrie was crazy and looking at the stats tonight shows you why stats don’t tell the whole story.
Either way, enjoyed debating with some of you fine folks today. Until the next time mates.
eLonepb - January 27, 2012
Later.
Conrad Kaczmarek - January 27, 2012
Must admit to being somewhat disappointed in the FTS people for the reactions tonight to the Nets folk.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Eh, it’s always tough to react when people start coming in and trolling after a game’s pretty much over
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
It’s called the z-button!
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
When you can stop people from reacting to comments on the internet, come see me. I got some other things you can sort out. You can start with world peace and hunger.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Also, what does the z button do? Is it just a scroll or does it take you to a specific comment?
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Let a few comments go, then hit z a couple times slowly. It takes you to each one in chronological order.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Nice, so I don’t have to randomly scroll up trying to find where the hidden comment was.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
Exactly. It’s a great function.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Something that has nothing to do with this game in particular:
I’m really excited to see Kyrie and TT in the Rookies vs Sophomores game during All-Star weekend.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
I’d also like to see Marshon Brooks, seems like he could be an awesome scorer
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Anyone want to stick it out for the NY-MIA game with me?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Fine, but I’m switching off the big speakers
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I probably will.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Bibby is playing, doesn’t look too good for the Knicks
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Wolves 81, Spurs 79, 1:45 to play.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
KLOVE. 83
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
NW Division is a beast so far. Wolves check in at 9-10 in last place after their W tonight. The Atlantic, not so much.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
heat by two
beanjames - January 27, 2012
I hate losing games like that, but it’ll be better long run
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I miss Mark Jackson with this booth.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
What should I write about tonight? Topics, anyone?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Well, whatever it is it sure won’t be more of a flop than yesterday’s piece!
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Hornets beating the Magic 84-60. And the Boston disaster the other day. Ouch.
Danny7185 - January 27, 2012
You are very lucky to have a player like Kyrie for the future.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
He’s a start.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Thanks NetsMets4Life
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
So that Grizzlies-Clippers game had some gross uniforms last night. ..
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
That’s a fact
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
miami pulling away miami 84 new york 77
beanjames - January 27, 2012
Kind of makes you wonder what they do with Carmelo Anthony.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
The Knicks roster is a mess, if Baron comes back and does something they could be a playoff team, but with a payroll like they have they might want to consider blowing it up
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
They can’t blow it up. They just went through years of crap for it.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Dont know how people figure Baron Davis will come in and make a big difference. It is not 2007. Unfortunately for them, they were so desperate to remove themselves from the Isiah era that they filled up the roster with a core of lesser superstars and then washed up stars.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
The Knicks gave up too much in the Melo trade. And Baron will hardly do much. They just need the guys they have to play better.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
This is why over at NetsDaily we pray that the Magic are content with the roster they have (they are currently losing to the Hornets). Some reports over the past week suggest they are happy and may call Dwight’s bluff and hold on to him. If he wants to leave, he has to take a $30 million hair cut. But it looks like he would take that cut. He just seems so removed from the Orlando organization.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
He does seem so removed. It’s the same situation as Denver last year. It’s too bad you still don’t have Ryan Anderson though. He’s been awesome this year.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Rod Thorn just completely screwed us over in his last season or two with the Nets. VC/Anderson trade for a load of garbage might have been his worst trade ever.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
That’s an expensive haircut for someone who doesn’t have much hair in the first place.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
From reading around a lot, it just looks like he has absolutely no interest in staying in Orlando. It does not seem out of the realm of possibility that he would take a pay cut to go to his next team instead of going to that team without the pieces it would take to get him in a trade.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Cavs are a great fit for him in free agency (though no one’s talking about it)
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
That would be because he does not want to go to the Cavs. Ric Bucher is one guy in particular who has been very adamant about Dwight’s list being Nets, Mavs, Lakers in that order. Bucher also told Bulls fans to stop coming up with Dwight trade proposals. The Bulls are simply not on his list.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
He recently added the Celtics to his list as well. I don’t really understand what Dwight’s motivation is with his trying to get out of Orlando, if he wants to be the man, he already is. If he wants to win, the Bulls are probably going to the finals without him. It’s confusing.
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Celtics thing is interesting. I am not sure why he would want to be on that team other than Rondo. I think that whole story was just further proof that he wants out.
I think he wants both (to be the man and win). I believe he thinks he can do both in Brooklyn. He can’t be the man in LA. His relationship has soured with Orlando. There are a number of factors for why Chicago doesn’t work. Wojnarowski had a story about how Adidas cant have their two stars play in the same market. Maybe he does not feel Rose is a good fit for him (not exactly a pure point guard). Whatever the case, the Bulls do not work.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
The C’s are broken after this year to me. Unless you can legitimately lure players like LBJ, Wade and Bosh at the same time you simply can’t win with a roster full of exception and veteran minimum guys. And the Knicks are living proof of that (I know Anthony was a trade). Boston isn’t title contenders for a long time unless Howard and someone else goes there this summer.

He played very well last year, both in LA and in Cleveland (a surprise to many).
ahowie - January 27, 2012
I Love Baron and I think he is a top 3 PG when he is in shape and motivated, it’s just the team seems like a mess and he’s coming off a tough injury
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
He’s not at all top ten point guard regardless of shape anymore to be honest.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
playoff Warriors Baron was unbelieveable, also remember when he toasted the Cavs while on the Hornets. I’ll always be a big BD fan. Don’t come to me for too much objectivity
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I assumed you were referring to his 2011-2012 state. So, that is what my comment was all about.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
We’ll see, he could come back fantastic. Also his main positive attributes are passing, shooting, size & defense, those stay pretty well (as long as motivated and healthy)
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Yea, I’m just going to stop. You can’t be objective about Baron Davis the same way I can’t be about Ray Allen. We all have a soft spot..
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Jesus Shuttlesworth
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Own 11 different Ray jerseys.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
I kinda have a soft spot for Ray myself. Cant hate on him at all.
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Yeah but one of the biggest problems with the team is that D’Antoni doesn’t have a point guard to run his offense.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Top 3 in what year? 2007?
NetsMets4Life - January 27, 2012
Hahahaha
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
It’s not a great example because he has hardly ever been healthy and motivated
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
but blowing it up means trading melo.the rest of that roster is untradable.
beanjames - January 27, 2012
expected
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
And they got smoked by rebuilding-mode Cavs. They have some very talented players, but they don’t mesh well and aren’t at the ages/point in careers/skill sets/salaries don’t make sense.
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I can’t remember a season where I felt more assured of a CF matchup than I do this year with Miami-Chicago.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
Cav Celtics
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
That was a CSF, not a CF.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
I was thinking that in 2008-2009
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
I don’t know how you could have, Boston didn’t have Garnett…
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
wait what?
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Kevin Garnett missed a ton of that season and didn’t play at all in the playoffs. How could you have thought it was a lock for them to meet Cleveland in the 2009 ECF’s?
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
before the season
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Nasty move from LeBron.
ahowie - January 27, 2012
Drew Gooden, who I have nothing good to say about, had a huge performance in Bogut’s absence tonight.
johnf34 - January 27, 2012
That will happen when Carlos Boozer guards you

I like his Ducktail hairstyle
teamrobhogg - January 27, 2012
Please don’t tell me you are too sore of a loser to write a game recap
netsfanrasmus - January 28, 2012
To NOT write a game recap
netsfanrasmus - January 28, 2012
Of course he’s writing one. Advice: leave.
johnf34 - January 28, 2012
Recap is up, it was a Friday night and I’m in college. I had other things to do.
