We have Leo Lyons?!

I have a feeling
that Jackson and Kinsey are going to major player for the Cavs this year. I am sure they will get much better by playing summer league. J.J Hickson is looking like he will be lucky to make the team this year.

JJ Hickson could turn into a solid bench player for us this year if he stays healthy. With his athletic ability alone its gonna be hard for Mike Brown to leave him off the team. He’s a high energy guy with offensive skills that Anderson Varejao could only dream of having. Basically what i’m saying is that Hickson has to play as long as he is healthy.

this is one of the least accurate comments i’ve seen here in a while.
hickson has a back injury that’s keeping him out of summer league.

Is a summer league like a Practice squad?

Good write up on Green. http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=13277
I love both draft picks this year. They are really doing things the right way down a the Q.
E5 - July 12, 2009
at least you’re consistent…
quoting you, from another thread. so, which is it? they’re doing things the right way or putting together mush?
DontCallMeJoey - July 13, 2009
Yeah, this is great. He’s always trashing Ferry and the front office, and now he says they’re going things the right way? How funny.
Buckeye Brad - July 13, 2009
Maybe you missed the sarcasm.
E5 - July 13, 2009
there’s no maybe about it. which one was sarcastic?
DontCallMeJoey - July 13, 2009

You can check it out at Summerleague

Leo
Yea Roger I guess only you and I are excited about that. I have been saying it on other blog sites that this dude is a player. He was really solid at Mizzou and an important part of their run to the elite 8. I think he could be the kind of stretch player the Cavs need. He has good size and can knock downan open j. He went to school for 4 yrs which is also a plus. He and Green have to best chance of making the roster IMO.
Evan S - July 13, 2009
I am a Mizzou fan so I have watched quite a bit of him. He had to play mostly inside due to the lack of big men on Mizozu’s roster, but I think he has the ability to make the transition to guarding a 3. If he works on his outside jump shot, he could be a really nice player.
Roger Dorn - July 13, 2009
Can Danny Green defend the 2? I hated him at UNC (which is good because I am a Duke fan) but I don’t remember him trying to take on Duke’s smaller/quicker athletes.
rufio - July 13, 2009
i think delonte, anthony parker, and LeBron will get the lion’s share of the minutes against the opposing 2’s, with green coming in and getting some time to adjust and see if he can handle the 2 or is better served guarding the 3. i would imagine they expect him to be able to guard the 2, but he won’t have to do it in high-leverage situations very often.
DontCallMeJoey - July 13, 2009
I really hope he can be good for us, at least down the road. I was surprised he dropped to us and it seemed like some of the “experts” were too.

Why is Eyenga doing real bad
BradyQuinnisBeast - July 13, 2009
He’s 18 and was playing in a 2nd tier Spanish league last year. I would say he is not quite ready for the competition in the NBA or the NBA summer league.
Roger Dorn - July 13, 2009
Right. He probably won’t play in the NBA for a couple years while he refines his game in Europe. The Spurs have done this a couple times, most notably with Manu Ginobli. The pick was definitely a move for the future by Ferry, so I wouldn’t worry too much about how he plays right now.
Buckeye Brad - July 13, 2009
I thought he was 20? Very young, either way.
Eyenga is a really good athlete and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is better on the defensive end of the floor which wouldn’t show up in the stat sheet.
