Around the Internet
- John Hollinger at ESPN.com has a very good analysis of what the Cavs did right in Game 4 and why they do have some reason for optimism even though they are down 3-1. He says pretty much what we've all been saying: the Cavs gave the Magic the shots they wanted them to take and unfortunately (for us) they made them, but that's not likely to happen again. And the Cavs got better help from everyone not named LeBron which is a positive sign for the next game.
- Also on the WWL, Chris Broussard talks about LeBron's performance in Game 4 and TrueHoop has 8 thoughts about Game 4. And everybody's favorite Bill Simmons, aka The Sports Guy, has a lengthy diatribe about NBA officiating and what it's doing to the game.
- At TheClevelandFan.com, Jesse Lamovsky looks at the history of teams overcoming 3-1 deficits, Brian McPeek says the Cavs need to focus on winning just one game, and Jerry Roche talks about what's killing the Cavs in this series.
- At NBA.com, Rob Peterson says the Magic are sticking with what works while John Shuhmann talks about Rafer Alston making the Cavs pay for leaving him open.
- The fantastic Joe Posnanski, who wrote the story about the Cavs that appeared on the cover last week, talks about the supposed jinx he gave the team.
- John Krolik at Cavs: The Blog writes his recap of Game 4.
I’m absolutely baffled by Windhorst’s whiney, bitchy writing this series. Every piece includes a variation of the line from this article: “a series that has so far been one-sided.” Yeah, so one-sided that the Cavs led with less than a minute to go in three out of four games.
He sounds like the petulant child who hates losing. How disappointing.
Hollinger’s piece looks a good deal like my fan post, though mine has further detail.

And another link
New York Post says tonight’s loss will show why the Knicks+Lebron are better than Cavs+Lebron.

UGH

The poll says otherwise

i appreciate the spirit of simmons’ piece, but i disagree with much of the detail. for example, allowing more physicality is not the answer with the players as big, strong and fast as they are.
bottom line, he’s right that the nba has an officiating crisis.

The Fun Starts Tonight in Game 5!
It is always interesting to read the various journalistic interpretations, especially the fickle ones that jump on and off the bandwagon with each victory or defeat.
There is one simple fact. The FUN starts tonight with a Cavaliers victory in Game 5.
GO CAVS!!!!!!!!!!

Is anyone going to the game?? Can I make a request that people get loud? Please. And do complain about every call. Loudly. It helps.

I was going to the game
my buddy and I have talked about getting Game 5 tickets from a season ticket holder we know who couldn’t go. He finally got the tickets, lower bowl for $30 and his girlfriend who doesn’t even like basketball said she is going with him instead.
Burned.
Can we get the game thread up 2 hours early? I’ve got a lot of nervous energy to burn.

Do you and his girl get along? Because that sucks. I’d like to think my wife wouldn’t be like that but who knows. It’s LeBron James!
ilamuku - May 28, 2009
Yes, we do
but I don’t blame her. I wouldn’t pass up an opportunity like that.
Hardcore Legend - May 28, 2009
Damn. That’s all I can say.

3's
Yes I agree, the Cav’s did give the Magic the shots they wanted, unfortunately they were 51 points from three point land. Can we please stop the double team on howard give the Magic the paint and take away the 3. Every time I watched the Cav’s it was the same old thing. The Magic run the ball around the 3 point arch and as usual there is not a Cav in sight they are two busy double teaming Howard or Lewis.
So can someone please tell Mike Brown to protect the 3 and force them into the paint. Just think if you would have done that in game 4 you would not have had 51 points from the 3 point arch.
