I think of this as a failed year for the Cavaliers should they be eliminated, but I would place the blame 100% on Mike Brown and Danny Ferry. Brown for not adjusting at all during this series, and Ferry for thinking Varejao/Ilgauskas was a good idea.
I honestly wish they had a frontline scorer to complement James rather than 2 guards who mostly shoot well from outside but when they are off, they aren’t much help.
Cavs have taken 26 FTs to the Magic’s 19. Taking away the 4 FTs the Cavs have taken because of Technicals, we’re looking at a difference of 3 foul shots. For a team that has been shooting so much from the perimeter and a team which has been consistently taking the ball to the hole, I was hoping for a large separation in those numbers.

Until it does, I will enjoy the chase. I will never forget moments like the one at the end of game two. I will never disrespect fans of opposing teams unnecessarily, and I will never piss on the sunshine of the eternal optimists in my midst. I will simply enjoy the inevitably of the passion taking hold and consuming me.

It is neither fatalistic nor predictive to say what I’m about to say. It just is.
Sports fandom is not rational. It is not the most productive use of our time. It is not logical.
What it is, however, is uncontrollable.
I don’t choose with whom I fall in love. I don’t choose my every emotion. Sometimes they just happen.
But being a sports fan from Cleveland is rather different. It is about embracing the idea that the journey means more than the destination, because we have never arrived at that destination. It is about loving unconditionally, even when we should be pressing charges.
I choose to believe that all of that Curse mess will end. Maybe soon, maybe not for years, but it will end. It will end because it never existed to begin with.
Until it does, I will enjoy the chase. I will never forget moments like the one at the end of game two. I will never disrespect fans of opposing teams unnecessarily, and I will never piss on the sunshine of the eternal optimists in my midst. I will simply enjoy the inevitably of the passion taking hold and consuming me.
Let’s. Go. Cavs.
