Hey all, Turk here. I'll be around in the future providing some front-page content here and there and helping out on FTS along with CavsBlogger and Buckeye Brad, but until then I just wanted to get an Open Thread going for what promises to be an entertaining Game 7 here. I'm still up in the air... I think we match up better with Boston, but I can't bring myself to root for them. Either way, it should be an entertaining game. Feel free to post thoughts and comments in here as the game goes along, and I'll hopefully provide some post-game "analysis."

Boston “fans” in rare form tonight. I don’t think there’s a less likeable team in the NBA than the Celtics.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Heck, two years ago celtic fans were coming to games with paper bags over their heads and screaming for Doc and Ainge to be fired
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
I’m not sure I respect a single one of their players
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
I'm tired of seeing them on my tv
Tired of seeing no one stop Rondo, tired of seeing Perkins and Glen get whatever they want in the paint, tired Pierce hitting shot after shot with a hand in his face, and tired of people saying how underrated Scatterbrain and Strawberry are.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
I just feel like they’re as arrogant as any team can be
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
speaking of which
I’m also tired of KG’s endless mugging for the camera.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Yep
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
actually
scatterbrain and strawberry aren’t called underrated. They’re more like x factors. But I’m still tired of hearing about them
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
I’m just amazed that these scrubs have taken Boston to a game 7
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
I hate to admit it
But this is the team that crushed us by 21
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Kinda like Red Sox fans, huh?
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Remember when Red Sox fans always cried about their team?
About how they were cursed?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
It made me so sick. The Celtics and Patriots were both great yet they complained that their baseball team hadn’t won a WS in a while. How about Cleveland fans!?!?!? We haven’t won ANYTHING since ’64!
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Same way I feel about Chicago fans. What, 6 NBA titles and the best player in history wasn’t enough for you?
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Close
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Ray Allen getting into gear would be bad news
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Magic looking good behind the arc
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
SICK dunk by Howard
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
timeout celtics, magic lead by 10
if rafer is shooting well, the magic are going to have great success in this game
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
That does bode well for Orlando
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
4-4 in 3 point shooting
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
scatterbrain passes up a 3
how many times have we heard that?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
"bull****" chants from the crowd
how many times have we heard that?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Great start by Orlando, that’s quite surprising in Boston. We’ll see if they can keep it up.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
They won't
just wait until the second half
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
The tide already seems to be turning. I feel like the outcome of this game is inevitable. I just do not understand how Boston can keep running these scrubs out here and winning. I sure hope I’m wrong. Or do I? I really don’t know how I feel about playing Orlando in a 7 game series.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
I'm pulling for boston
They look easier to defeat, even if the magic know less about how to close out games than how to shoot free throws.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
That’s my initial thought, but I mean, when I see stuff like Glen freakin’ Davis hitting game-winning shots, it makes me nervous. It’s admittedly silly, like being afraid to play the Yankees because of the “Yankee Mystique” or “Yankee Aura.”
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Remember, we made the celtics look like a joke in the Q
No other team defeated the celtics by as many points as we did.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
True, true. But we were also 2-0 against the Spurs in the 2007 regular season
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
I would like to defeat Boston to get revenge from last year.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
One Goal, Brad. I don’t care how we do it.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
If the Magic keep shooting 3’s like this then Boston won’t stand a chance.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Will we?
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Let's not talk about that yet
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Haha, I was thinking that too. No, we wouldn’t, but they can’t shoot like this for a whole series.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
that's what i was about to say
Is Scatterbrain playing well, or what?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
10 point lead for Orlando at the end of the 1st
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
I hate these McDonalds mocha commercials
the whole adding an accent at the end of every word? You think that’s witty? I could do that!
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
You mean, that doesn’t make McDonald’s classy?
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Ah, here is strawberry
the celtics savior. as soon as i typed that, he lost the ball.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
O/T: Who would have thought that Kobe could shoot 4-12 and the Lakers would still win by 20?
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
When Mo and D west have monster nights
LeBron doesn’t have to be great either.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
another timeout, magic still leading
glen davis has two fouls after rashard lewis took a charge on a great defensive play. Strawberry is playing like savior, just like I knew he would.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
strawberry lost the ball again
I just love it whenever he’s on the floor, even if he’s actually having a great night
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
whoa....
strawberry hit a 3!
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
You keep making me think of Daryl Strawberry
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Should I call him blueberry?
raspberry?
dewberry?
huckleberry?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
same here
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Three fouls on Turkoglu already is no bueno
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
timeout orlando
good idea…don’t want this 10 point lead to get whittled in a hurry
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Wave, just a suggestion, try typing without using the subject line. It’s easier to type and makes it less distracting to read, without all those bold words sticking out. Turk and I got used to not using it at LGT and it’s much easier to read.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Yeah, and we’re not trying to be mean about it. We just find it kinda distracting. Plus I imagine it takes extra time for you to use the subject line.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Right.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Ugh, lead down to less than 10
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
“ugh”? Who cares?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
timeout orlando, they lead by 6
you knew this was going to happen at some point
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
I do not want to see Ray Allen heating up before a series with us.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
How about Reddick starting after not getting off the bench for his first couple years?
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Another 3 by Orlando . . .
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
they needed that
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Bad foul.
And what’s with all this “Final Countdown” crap?
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
as if he’s helpful to the magic in the final minutes of the game
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Yikes. Momentum is really shifting here.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
you know, orlando, i’d like for you to surprise me and hold onto a lead for once. Because your collapses are so predictable.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
timeout celtics? WUT?
That’s dumb…there’s only 21 seconds left
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
sorry rafer…
you can’t get that kind of call in boston
end of the half, magic lead by 7. Watch boston take the lead in the second half. Or maybe not.
You can tell how tired i am of this series.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Word to that
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
As always, I have to leave before the second half starts. It was fun watching the game with you guys. See you later.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Late
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Later
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
This is starting to look ugly
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
And here comes the Boston comeback.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
AND HERE COME THE YANKEES
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Orlando just keeps shooting those 3’s. Hope they don’t shoot like this against us.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
I hate Ray Allen
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
5 point game going in to the fourth
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Oy, this is gonna get intense I think.
Brad, I think I’m gonna work on a short re-cap/preview of the ECF after this game. Ya think?
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Good idea. I’m going to try posting links every day if I can.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
I’m gonna try to post as often as possible, but I’ve got a busy schedule starting up soon. Should be able to post pretty regularly anyway, though.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Yeah, I don’t know how often I’ll be able to do the links while school is still going on. I’m going to try posting something during my lunch if I have time, but I might have to wait until I get home from school. It took me a while to do my first one but I suppose it will go quicker as I get more practice.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
at first I thought
you said post positively but then I realized that isn’t possible.
E5 - May 17, 2009
What is that supposed to mean?
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Nice of E5 to show up on a Cleveland blog right before the playoffs. He’ll probably start telling us that Lebron isn’t doing enough core-strengthening exercises.
CU Adam - May 17, 2009
Lebron
is a Beast he is awesome. Cavs and Lebron are the best thing Cleveland has ever seen.
E5 - May 17, 2009
Nah, he’s been here for a while. He’s walking a fine line, though.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Yeah, he’s said some dumb stuff already. I’ve had to flag him a couple times; he obviously hasn’t learned his lesson.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Nice, start trolling here, too.
CU Adam - May 17, 2009
Huh?
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Orlando is pulling away, let’s see if they can avoid folding again.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Thanks for showing up, Boston.
I was definitely rooting for the Celtics, because of all there reasons listed above and others. They’re arrogant, they’re shmucks, their fans are absolute jokes. That said the Celtics are The Man. To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man. And I’m confident that the Cavs would have won in 5 at worst; I think the Cavs would have had a 50/50 shot at winning Game 3 in Boston, and if they’re won that, would have been almost guaranteed yet another sweep. Orlando is going to be a much tougher series. Cavs in 6.
CU Adam - May 17, 2009
I think the Cavs will beat Orlando in 5 — win both at home, one in Orlando, and finish them off at home. I definately don’t see us losing at home to them.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
I agree, I’d be shocked if we lost at home. But I think we’ll get beat twice in Orlando, making it a 2-2 series. I’d get 1 will be close and 1 will be fairly big Orlando win.
CU Adam - May 17, 2009
Sorry, “get” = “guess”
CU Adam - May 17, 2009
I just don’t think the Magic can shoot like this against us. Our D is too good.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
I think they can shoot on us, at least at home. And I bet they’ll have one game where they get all the bounces and beat us by about 11.
CU Adam - May 17, 2009
Yeah, it could happen. As I said, it would be hard for us to beat them when they’re shooting 3’s like this (11-18 so far).
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
As you said, I did want to beat Boston because they’re defending champs.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Hey Guys!
Wow ! Boston really showed up and laid a dirty one. Orlando is gonna be hocked when it has to actually face some defense.
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
Opps....I mean shocked
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
Yeah, Pierce was a big no-show today. Way to step up in Game 7 like a star player should.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
I’d be careful how much we revel in schadenfreude. It’s bad karma.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Yeah. He looked like he "aged" this year...(as he hits a 3)
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
. . . . and he just hit a 3. The Celtic fans should thank me.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
schadenfreude? Is that what you have for breakfast?
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
Here comes the Magic
lets have at them.
E5 - May 17, 2009
and Here comes LeBron!
If They play our shooters way out on the perimeter like they are doing Boston, I see LeBron driving to the rim……alot
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
I imagine that
he will but with Dwight hanging back he might have to get creative.
E5 - May 17, 2009
True
but if Z and/or Andy roll to the basket with him, he’ll have some options.
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
True True
should be fun either way.
E5 - May 17, 2009
Ha, suck it Pierce. Sit down.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Hey now Paul is a good
guy no need for that.
E5 - May 17, 2009
Pierce is a jackass. He deserves a little taunting.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Lebron
doesn’t have a problem with him neither should you. Seems a bit childish seeing as how they are not going to be around and we are clearly the superior team. Superior teams and players don’t need to act foolish. Only teams with little confidence do that sort of stuff.
E5 - May 17, 2009
Wow, look who’s giving lessons now. You’re not one to be talking about acting childish, isn’t that like the pot calling the kettle black?
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Just stop
E5 - May 17, 2009
You are the one who needs to stop. Pierce is a fine player, clearly, and I always do my best to try to stay classy. But it’s hard to not enjoy this.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
No one is saying not to enjoy
it but it is a little childish to act foolish. Winners don’t need to taunt. Losers taunt when they get lucky because they know that really didn’t deserve it.
E5 - May 17, 2009
Not that this is worth arguing about, but is was really an off the cuff remark. Pierce has not been the classiest player ever, but I’m not going to spout off about it.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Sorry
I heard off the cuff remarks are not acceptable. Maybe that comes from somewhere else.
E5 - May 17, 2009
There is a clear difference between off the cuff remarks and attacking other posters. Only one of those things can get you banned.
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
First of all, nobody is here to taunt. We’re all Cavs fans. He wasn’t taunting any Celtics fans.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Just a few days ago, you called someone a name which I will not repeat here. Now you’re telling other people to “stay classy”? Don’t you see the hypocracy?
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
What a
Homosapien
E5 - May 17, 2009
or
this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homo_(genus)
E5 - May 17, 2009
You’re pushing it. Can we stick to basketball, please?
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Nice to see you’ve literally not changed at all. Go hang out on cleveland.com.
CU Adam - May 17, 2009
That’s NOT what you meant, and you know it. Just stay away if you’re going to keep this us.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Goodbye Boston!!
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, good bye!
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
It's all over but the crying..
Sorry we won’t get our pound of flesh this year from the Celtics
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
Yea
I kind of wanted revenge but thats ok a championship is what we are really after and it doesn’t matter who we cross off to do that.
E5 - May 17, 2009
Next TNT postgame
I bet Sir Charles is on the Magic bandwagon
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
Yea
that wouldn’t surprise me. He always questions on the way the Cavs play but the Spur have won titles playing that way and he never had one playing how he did so. We will count rings when Lebron’s career is over.
E5 - May 17, 2009
BINGO!
Chuck is so predictable
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
Of course, he always goes against the trend just to be different.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
I like Chuck
but you are right.
E5 - May 17, 2009
You called it
E5 - May 17, 2009
CelticsMagic vs CavsE5 - May 17, 2009
Barkley is hilarious man
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Well, I don't think Charles has alot of critical thinking skills....
He’s a front runner with whoever looks good at the time…he just saw the Magic looking like world beaters against Boston. So. they can do the same to the Cavs ….in his mind.
Juannieboy - May 17, 2009
I'm back
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Welcome back
E5 - May 17, 2009
Wow. No more Celtics. Almost seems unreal, doesn’t it?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
I looked at Third Quarter Collapse. The bloggers are having huge orgasms right now, which is hard to argue with since the Magic rallied from a 3-2 deficit to dethrone the Celtics. They can’t wait to play us.
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Bring ’em on
Turkmenbashi - May 17, 2009
Congrats on becoming front-page diarists, Turk and Buckeye Brad.
See you for some ECF games.
JulioBernazard - May 17, 2009
Thanks. I’m looking forward to playing some games again! It gets lonely watching all these other teams.
Buckeye Brad - May 17, 2009
Yeah, how did you get promoted?
WaveOcean - May 17, 2009
Thanks man, I’m really looking forward to contributing
