LeBron James loves the Big Apple. We all know that. We all know that New York loves him too - especially if he decides to call MSG his home 10 months from now. With the Cavaliers in New York to face the Knicks at The Garden tonight, LeBron decided to give back a bit to NYC -
Dear New York,
Thank you for welcoming me back to New York City, one of my favorite places to play in the world. The Big Apple has always been good to me so I wanted to do something special to show my appreciation.
With this in mind, on November 7, 2009, I'm going to open seven gyms around NYC to host free open runs for high-school aged players. I remember being in high school and just wanting to play ball as the seasons changed from fall to winter. The Ohio winter made it tough to play outside so I always saw the opportunity to play in a nice gym as a gift.
It is in giving that I've found the most strength, whether it's on the court with my teammates or at home with my family. In giving this gift of the game to New York City, I want to share that strength with people who love the game as much as I do.

A nice touch by James to open some local gyms in and around New York City. TO me, he can do all the charity work he wants to do in New York. He can wear a Yankees cap - which he certainly will be sporting tonight, I'm sure. All that is fine with me, as long as he wears the Wine and Gold on the court.

Just go to NY already
I’m so sick of hearing about it I could puke I live in NYC and I sat in my office while the Yankee Parade, with CC strolled by. I love it here and I can understand the draw to want to come live here but then again, I am not so rich I can go visit anywhere I like whenever I like.
If he has that big of a hard on to be in NY then so be it.

lebron's leaving
the popular media myth that lebron is leaving cleveland sounds like nonsense, at first glance. i thought people said it to freak us cavs fans out! it does!
lebron is negotiating a monstrous contract. the cavs will pay him whatever he wants, and he knows it. any speculation about his departure will serve as a lever for him in these negotiations. he’s the brightest ray of hope for cleveland sports, so pay him as much as he wants.

Besides, Lebron already knows exactly how much he will make playing anywhere, he knows how much he would make in new york, and how much he would make in Cleveland. So basically he needs to just STFU about New York already. I never thought I would start to mildly dislike him…but its happening. Dont sit here and say this is ‘good business’’ At this point it’s just plain wrong to do to cavs fans, who dont deserve these little flirty game playing tactics. He doesnt need to come out and say where hes going, but quit with the BS.

o.k. who really cares any more its like the whole Brett Favre thing will i stay or will i go.i am sick of hearing it.if he goes we sign someone else like D. Wade or chris bosh, i mean come on cleveland we dont owe lebron anything we opened are arms for him, and called him the king,a billboard that takes up half of downtown. so if he does leave thats his choice not ownership and ours just his.
